It is with great sadness that Dino Jakovas and Marina Mantis announce the passing of their father, Pete K. Jakovas.

Pete K. Jakovas was born in Examilia, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1960 and settles in San Jose. He found his love, the late Eystathia Jakovas, affectionately known to many as Thia Loula. He owned and operated a gas station in downtown San Jose for many years before retirement.

He enjoyed his family, Church and his citrus trees. He was a loving, caring, good-hearted man, Father and Uncle with a great sense of humor. He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Dino and Margarita Jakovas and a daughter and son-in-law, Marina and George Mantis and many nieces and nephews, here and in his beloved Greece.

With deep affection and gratitude, the family thanks Amazing Grace 2 care home, Louie Natividad and his family. They provided so much loving care and went above and beyond for our father.

A Trisagion will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 7pm at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Sacramento and Funeral Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, San Jose, California.
